A scheme for the development of solar parks and ultra-mega solar power projects with an objective of setting up a capacity of 1,40,000 MW. Under the scheme, infrastructure such as land, roads, power transmission system water facilities are developed with all statutory approvals/permissions. Thus, the scheme will help speed up development of utility-scale solar projects in the country.
II. PM-KUSUM Scheme:To promote small grid connected solar energy power plants, stand-alone solar powered agriculture pumps and solarization of existing grid connected agricultural pumps. This scheme will not only benefit the farmers but also the states and discoms. States save on subsidy for power to agricultural consumers and discoms get less solar power at the tail end, saving on transmission and distribution losses.
Short term trainings, skill development programmes, fellowships, internships, support for lab upgradation for Renewable Energy can be undertaken through this scheme as part of human resource development scheme.
Manufacturing of briquettes, pellets and biomass cogeneration in industries can be taken up through this scheme.
